#Grimm #David Giuntoli #Nick Burkhardt #Fall2011 #NBC
A cop finds out that he is one of the last Grimms - hunters who can see supernatural monsters for what they really are.
The second of the ‘fairy tale shows’ to premiere this week, Grimm is as procedural as Once Upon A Time is not. And it seemed more like a CW show. It felt like Supernatural with the writing of Nikita. A lot of cliched lines and the humor seemed forced. That’s not saying it was bad though. It has a
pretty fairly talented cast, and its decent ratings against a World Series game will make sure it gets some more time to improve.
Also, I’ve noticed Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams, and its covers have been played a lot this year.

Everyone assumed it was going to be pretty horrible, but it wasn’t that bad. It isn’t Mad Men or Boardwalk Empire, but it’s not even making a lot of effort trying to be. It has the network TV gloss, but also has the nothing-really-special-here feel that often comes along with it. Being on cable instead might have given them more breathing room, but it still wouldn’t be a must-watch show.
They say sex sells, but apparently, looking at the ratings, not on network TV.

A show called Whitney, about a photographer called Whitney Cummings, played by the comedienne Whitney Cummings. Pretty crappy so far, and they haven’t even made the obligatory joke about her last name yet. And oh, it has a laugh track. On NBC. On Thursdays. Following Community, Parks and Rec, and The Office. Comes a show with a laugh track. I will give it another shot next week though.
A cursory glance at Whitney Cummings’ twitter account will make you laugh more than the show will.

Show needs to build on the funny, but the cast makes it worth giving it a shot.
After Running Wilde last fall, guest spots on 30 Rock and now this, Will Arnett is no longer just Gob Bluth to me.
